I know Reaper quite a bit because some clients of mine work with it, but this is the first time i run it on Mac ( the top of the recent Mac pro line).
These enable REAPER's various advanced routing capabilities, such as controlling the passing of audio/MIDI material between REAPER and other programs. If you choose not to install these, you can reinstall REAPER to add them at any time in the future.

You can put a shortcut to in your application dock if you like. (It might be a good idea to rename the shortcut according to which portable install it points to so you don't get confused later.)
